The area is home of martins, toucans, pelicans, blue footed boobies, gulls, frigates, caciques, and many more birds. Ayampe is a true paradise for the bird lover.

Ayampe is considered a hot spot for the expert bird watcher; a variety of rare bird spotting placed the area in the center of attention of the international enthusiasts. Rare birds have been spotted on the beach, river hills and around the Finca Punta Ayampe.

A few minutes away from the hotel you will find different ecosystems with a wide range of birds for you to watch, the abundance is breath taking. In fact Ayampe is the place to see the most unpredictable birds such as the Little Woodstar (Chaetocercus bombus) rare species of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family whose habitat is here in our nearby forest.
